Lebohang Morake (born 20th May 1964) is a South African singer and composer most famous for arranging and performing music for The Lion King movies and stage productions. He was recommended to Disney by Hans Zimmer, the score composer of The Lion King, and was later hired to form and conduct the African choir that sang for the movies. His voice is the first voice heard in the beginning of the film, singing the now famous chant (often considered synonymous with the film's image in popular culture) over the opening sequence.

Music: Hans Zimmer

Hans Florian Zimmer (born 12th September 1957) is a German film composer and music producer. He has composed music for over 150 films, including award-winning film scores for The Lion King (1994).

Music: Jay Rifkin

Jay Rifkin is an American music and film producer. Rifkin co-founded the company Media Ventures with Hans Zimmer, a childhood friend. As CEO of the company from 1988, Rifkin partnered with Zimmer to produce and to compose. Media Ventures is a diverse entertainment group that includes music, new media, film and television.

Lyricist: Julie Taymor

Julie Taymor (born 15th December 1952) is an American director of theatre, opera and film. She is widely known for directing the stage musical, The Lion King, for which she became the first woman to win the Tony Award for directing a musical, in addition to a Tony Award for Original Costume Design.

Performed by: Jason Raize [Orig]

Jason Raize (born 20th July 1975 – 3rd February 2004) was an American actor, singer and former Goodwill Ambassador for the United Nations Environment Programme. He was best known for his roles as the adult Simba in the Broadway stage musical version of The Lion King and Denahi in the animated Disney film Brother Bear. Sadly on February 7th 2004 at 11.15am, Raize's body was found hanged in a shed on the farm property. A missing person's report had been filed on February 3rd, also believed to be the date of death. Raize's death was ruled a suicide.

"Endless Night" is a musical number from the 1997 Lion King stage musical.

The song is sung when Simba is at his lowest, having a confidence crisis over how he had let his father Mufasa down, and trying to work out how he fits into the world. He remembers Mufasa's promise to always be there for him.

TCDailyPlanet wrote:- “Endless Night was also in my top performances. Sung by Simba...this performance brought tears to my eyes. It was done simply and beautifully, capturing a lovely self-reflection from a son without a father".

The Sun Chronicle:- A beautiful song where Simba laments the loss of his father, which is emotionally charged and powerful, and added "I don't think anyone will ever sing that song the way the late Jason Raize did (he was the original Simba on Broadway and it is his voice on the original Broadway cast album) due to his "vocal depth and delivery”.
